The following is the Qualification and Eligibility
For General Recruitment in the Recruitment Ghana National Fire Service
All potential Candidates must
Be physically and medically fit by Fire Service standards.
Drivers, Mechanics, Auto Electricians and Artisans must not be above 30 years.
Be a Ghanaian Citizen by birth.
Be of good character and NOT bonded.
Must be of sound mind.
Must be of the ages from 18-26 years.
Be not less than 5`8`` (1.73 metres) for males and not less than 5` 4`` (1.63 metres) for females.
Academic Qualification
Five (5) GCE 'O' Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics, SSSCE passes Grade A-E in any 5 subjects including English and Mathematics.

RANKS STRUCTURE
The Ghana National Fire Service just like any disciplined organization has a rank structure that symbolizes the chain of command of the operational and administrative management of the service. It is aimed at ensuring order, control, and division of labour and proper act of communication in the Service.
The Rank Structure of the Service is as follows:
The highest rank in the Service is the CHIEF FIRE OFFICER (CFO) and slides down to Assistant Divisional Officer Grade Two (ADO II) being the last rank within the Senior Officers corp.

Personnel of this rank are not Senior Officers yet but are on Officer Corps training into becoming Senior
Officers at the Fire Academy and Training School (FATS).
RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR OFFICER CORPS
CFO, DCFO AND ACFO
They are responsible for the formulation of policies for the Service.
DOI, DOII AND DO III
They ensure the implementation of policies formulated by management and also ensure the day- to- day administrative duties at District, Regional and National stations level.
ADO I AND ADO II
Oversight responsibilities in Operation, Training and discipline of Junior Officers at various Stations.
They are sometimes also delegate to work on behalf of Superior Officers and middle management.
JUNIOR OFFICERS
Ranking in the Ghana National Fire Service begins from Recruit Fireman/Firewoman after a satisfactory completion of a training course at the Fire Academy and Training School (FATS). The Recruit Fireman/Firewoman progress through the ranks to Station Officer Grade One (STN/OI), being the highest rank in the Junior Officers corp.
