Police recruitment scam: Timbillah fired for involvement in scandal

The former Director General in-charge of Human Resource at the Ghana Police Service, COP Patrick Timbillah has been fired for his involvement in a botched police recruitment scam in 2015.

The former senior Police officer has been on interdiction after his alleged involvement in the scam in January 2015.

A special task-force which was set up to investigate the matter, is said to have seen text message evidence and other correspondence between him and the victims of the scam.

According to Citi News, when they contacted COP Timbillah, he stated that, "I will comment at the right time through a press conference."

It is believed that the outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. John Kudalor approved his dismissal.
